Retaining walls and seat walls in Cedar Rapids

Structural retaining walls and built-in seat walls in Cedar Rapids that manage grade, add usable space, and hold their line through Iowa freeze and thaw.

Retaining walls, done properly

A retaining wall has one job: hold soil and water where they belong. We build on a compacted base with drainage behind the wall, so it does not bow or lean after the first hard winter. Seat walls, steps, and columns can be worked into the same project, and you see it all in a 3D rendering before we start.

  • Compacted base and drainage
  • Block sized to the wall height
  • 3D rendering before we build
  • Three-year workmanship warranty
  • In-house crews, no subcontractors
  • Clean site, every day

Our wall-building process

One crew lead runs the build from the first course to the last cap.

Consultation

We look at the grade, the drainage, and how you want to use the space, take measurements, and put together a 3D rendering and a written estimate.

Execution

We build on a compacted base with drainage behind the wall and set each course true. One crew lead runs the job and the site is cleaned up daily.

Review

We walk the finished wall with you. Retaining and seat wall installs carry a three-year workmanship warranty in writing.

Retaining wall FAQs

How long does a retaining wall take to build?

It depends on the length, height, and access, but most residential walls run several working days. You get a target schedule with the estimate.

What does it cost?

Wall projects are priced after we see the site, since height, length, drainage, and access all move the number. Estimates are free, and 3D renderings are free for projects over $8,000, otherwise a $250 design fee credited back if you book.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. Retaining and seat wall installs carry a three-year workmanship warranty in writing.

How soon can you start?

Hardscape design runs January through March and the calendar fills by early May, so reach out early for a spring build. We set a start date once you approve the estimate.
