About Harlow Creek Landscaping

Harlow Creek is family owned. Dana Whitfield-Ruiz started the company in 2012 with one truck and a walk-behind mower, after nine years working for a commercial landscape contractor in the Quad Cities. The first few years were maintenance work. In 2015, after a Belgard training program, she added hardscape, and paver patios and retaining walls have grown into the biggest part of the business. The commercial snow division started in 2018, when a property manager asked the crew to cover a couple of lots, and Dana's husband Marcus runs it now.

The work stays in-house. There are no subcontracted crews on hardscape jobs, and the same crew lead runs your project from the first walkthrough to the last, so you are not handed off between people. Two of our three crew leads have been here more than six years, and Kyle Brennan, our operations manager, keeps the schedule and the crews moving. Every patio and wall build starts with a 3D rendering, so you see the finished space before we break ground, and hardscape installs carry a three-year workmanship warranty in writing. If something is not right, you tell your crew lead and we make it right.
